VAV MinistriesGifts of every kind

Time, talent & service

What is in your hands?

People may offer practical skill, professional service, labor, experience and time toward approved VAV projects and ministry work—freely, responsibly and under clear authority.

No narrow limit

Every useful skill can begin a conversation.

VAV may need people who can build homes, repair cars and semis, restore RVs and equipment, develop land, serve at events, provide professional guidance or offer something we have not imagined yet.

An offer does not create an assignment. VAV will discern the need, confirm the right people and establish the scope before work begins.

06

Something not listed

A person may offer another skill, service, connection or resource. VAV’s pathway is intentionally open-ended and begins with discernment, not a fixed catalog.

From offer to assignment

Service is matched—not self-deployed.

Construction, repair, care, transportation, licensed work and vulnerable-person contact require the right scope, qualifications, insurance, supervision and safeguarding before service begins.

  1. 01

    Offer

Describe the skill, service, availability, region and any license or qualification that may apply.

  2. 02

    Discern

VAV reviews the ministry need, fit, risk, safeguarding, supervision and whether the proposed service should proceed.

  3. 03

    Verify

Licenses, insurance, references, screening, equipment, scope and professional authority are confirmed when relevant.

  4. 04

    Assign

An approved role, project, leader, schedule, location, safety plan and communication path are documented.

  5. 05

    Serve

Work, hours, expenses, evidence, completion and follow-up are recorded in the governed ministry record.

Time and tax treatment

Service has great ministry value without becoming a promised deduction.

VAV may acknowledge approved service and participation, but it will not place a dollar value on donated time or promise that the value of services is tax-deductible. Certain unreimbursed expenses connected with qualified volunteer service may have separate rules; volunteers should retain records and consult their own advisors.
