A guided first step

What do you need from God today?

Begin with Scripture and truth, a prayer for what you are facing, or a safe connection with someone who can stand with you. Nothing is recorded, analyzed, or submitted when you make a selection.

A place to begin

Begin with truth, context, and understanding.

Read: John 8
“Jesus, lead me into truth. Help me understand Your Word, recognize what is false, and respond faithfully to what You show me.”

This suggested prayer is a starting point, not a formula. Read the passage in context, ask the Holy Spirit for understanding, pray in your own words, or sit quietly before God.

Prayer rooted in the Word

Open Scripture for the moment you are in.

These are reading pathways—not diagnoses or promises about a particular outcome. The reader opens VAV’s current Scripture workspace.

Privacy before the story

You choose who may receive your request.

When secure requests open, the privacy level will be chosen before any prayer details. Prayer will never automatically become pastoral care or a newsletter subscription.

01

Shareable prayer

Shared only in the specific way you permit.

02

Prayer team only

Limited to authorized prayer-ministry roles.

03

Pastoral / confidential

Restricted to approved pastoral or care leadership.

04

Safeguarding review

Governed escalation when a serious safety concern is indicated.

A protected prayer journey

Compassionate follow-up without exposing the prayer.

When secure follow-up becomes available, authorized care teams will see only what their role and your permission allow. Sensitive prayer stories will never be used for advertising or placed in public website records.

What happens after a future live request

Clear expectations at every step.

01

Acknowledgement

The requester receives only the acknowledgement permitted by their selected contact preferences. Receipt does not mean an appointment or outcome is guaranteed.

02

Prayer-team review

An authorized role receives the least information needed. Pastoral, safeguarding, and general prayer access remain separated.

03

Status visibility

A future My VAV account may show safe statuses such as received, assigned, in prayer, or follow-up offered—without exposing restricted internal notes.

04

Continued care

Any pastoral conversation, practical-help request, or ongoing care journey requires its own permission and governed record.

Immediate danger or urgent crisis

The Prayer Closet is not an emergency service.

If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical, mental-health, or public-safety assistance, contact the appropriate local emergency or crisis service now. Do not wait for a ministry response.
